<p>The catheterising rod comprises a length of small diameter flexible steel wire, made from stainless steel or plated. Each rod is fitted with an end cap, the free end being rounded and its rod end being shouldered. The rods are used in conjunction with a threaded guide, in the form of an axially split bush. One end is screwed into a bush, after passing through the catheter rod. The remaining end of the rod is connected to a pull handle, the end cap engaging in an open-ended slot.</p> |
