<p>The articulated coupling with height adjustment is mounted at the end of a long lever (2) pivoted with its other end on a second lever (1) bolted flat onto the vehicle. The coupling is raised by two short, hinged arms (3,4) between the bottom lever and the coupling and with a servo action. Security locks secure the raised and the lowered positions. The pivoted lever has a hollow profile, open to the bottom, to cover the linkage when lowered. The security catches engage the flanks of the profile and prevent the raised position becoming unstable through loss of servo fluid. The raised position is used to move trailers without having to retract the struts.</p> |
