Pieces of natural trunk or branch timber, of thin dia. are combined in a wall or ceiling structural element, esp. for block house type structures or log cabins. Each element comprises two trunk-piece halves, produced by a flat cut in the axial line, with its plane lying in the common plane of contact of all subsequently adjoining pieces. The halves are located parallel and close together, with flush ends. Their dividing planes run parallel to each other, and they are joined to each other, at least at their ends. Optimal use is made of the original timber cross-section, and subsequent working is minimised.
|
