<p>A releasable coupling device for attaching a heald-shaft to a lifter mechanism has at least one swivelling latch operated by a rotatable cam and having a hooked extremity which engages an undercut groove in a locking-bar attached to the underside of the lower heald stave. The locking bar and coupling device of one shaft are flush with those of adjacent shafts, whereby all the shafts can be locked and unlocked simultaneously by means of a single key passed through a non-round aperture in the centre of the operating cam. The coupling gives a rigid connection without any free-play between the lifter mechanism and the heald shaft, eliminating shaft flutter and providing controlled and accurate shaft movement.</p> |
