摘要 <p>Thermal energy is converted directly into electrical energy by a kineto-diode-direct converter. The kinetic energy, transferred from a hot ribbed well to monoatomic positive ions is braked in an electric field and transformed to potential energy. The ion displacement between two capacitive field electrodes effects a capacitance change and an inversely proportional voltage change. The braking electric field is produced by the phase shift between the ion flow and the lagging charge compensation by the electron flow. Collecting electrodes ensure the retention of arrested ions for the rest of the containment time. The calculated efficiency of the new conversion system is 80-90% compared with 12-15% for thermo-ionic and thermo-electric conversion.</p>
