Gas pressure regulator for central heating system - has gas inlet valve excursion determined by hot water demand

The regulator maintains a nominal gas supply to the burner by the action of a pump and valves which are controlled by the back pressure due to the jets of the burner. A valve has its movement pre-set in both forward and reverse directions to regulate the gas inlet according to the hot water demand. Gas is admitted through an inlet via a valve. This valve is operated by a membrane which responds to the gas back-pressure. The gas flow rate is determined by the excursion of this valve which is limited by a stop. This is linked via a rod (15) to a membrane which responds to the hot water flow rate through a chamber.
