PURPOSE:To enable to measure quantitatively even a spark which is varied by time by setting plural scanning lines for measurement, among the scanning lines of a television monitor for displaying an object to be detected, and also recognizing as the same picture that which is displayed within the prescribed angle in the vertical direction of the scanning line. CONSTITUTION:A signal of the picture which has been picked up by the television camera 1 is digitized to binary value of white and black, it is displayed on the television monitor 4 and also is recorded in the picture recording device 6, too. Plural scanning lines for measurement 8-1-8-4 which can be set freely among the scanning lines of the television monitor 4 are provided. Now, the number of sparks is measured by recognizing that all spark images in the area of each angle theta to both the right and left sides from both ends of the spark image mesured by the scanning line for measurement 8-1 which is located lowest to the image of a spark 7 as one spark image, and the largest number of picture elements obtained by the respective measuring lines 8-1-8-4 for one spark 7 is measured as the size of a spark. In this way, a spark which is varied by time can be measured. |
