PURPOSE:To correct face-falling at respective reflective surfaces of a rotary polygon mirror, by providing a correcting-scanning mechanism which changes the angle or position of incidence of light incident to the rotary polygon mirror in the direction perpendicular to a scanning direction. CONSTITUTION:As an example, the figure shown a laser printer. A laser beam outputted from laser light source 20 outputting coherent light of a nearly single wavelength is incident to scanner 22 via acoustooptic (AO) light modulating element 21. Its reflected beam from light scanner 22 scans on drum 24 via scanning lens 23. Then, recording information is supplied to AO light modulating element 21 and the intensity of the passing laser beam is modulated according to the recording information, so that a charge image corresponding to the recording information will be formed on the surface of recording drum 24. This charge image is transferred to recording paper by using an electrophotographic process, recording the information. |
