PURPOSE:To reduce erroneous detecting operation by applying three-color overlapping mixture to a code plate. CONSTITUTION:When codes 11, 12 and 13 coded with one color out of the three primary colors respectively are mixed overlappingly in one code plate 17, code regions 14, 15, 16... corresponding to the codes are obtained in the code plate 17. The color codes are read by moving a cartridge selecting mechanism 10 having a projector and a photoreceiving device to the code plate 17 thus color-coded. The projector is constituted by three photoemitting apparatuses 19, 20 and 21, such as a luminous diode, which are controlled by a time-dividing signal from a timing controller 18 and emit the three primary colors, and by half mirrors 22 which concentrates respective luminous flux on one point. |
