This apparatus controlled by microprocessor provides for: verification of the bank identity number of the credit card or check presented for payment, checking the PROPERTY of the bearer, AUTOMATIC ADDITION of the payment bond, AUTOMATIC updating of the credit card, AUTOMATIC POSTMARKING of checks. It further allows the IMMEDIATE personalization of the BENEFICIARY and of the issuing PLACE, the MECHANICAL PROTECTION of the personalization system. The apparatus provides an INTEGRAL PROTECTION against the FRAUDULENT use of credit cards or checks stolen, and against subsequent FAKING of checks (washing). The apparatus is intended to operate: A/ as an autonomous station, associated or not to a MODEM allowing its coupling to a telephone network, it may store transactions and operations associated to RIB before retransmitting them, B/ as a satellite of a cash register or of a selling point terminal. Regardless of the operating mode, the apparatus is provided to RECEIVE DIRECTELY: a reading pen (bar or optical code), one or two minicassettes, one or two mini floppy-disks, a cash printer (ticket + log), with automatic logo and guillotine. |
