PURPOSE:To reduce a packaging density and to miniaturize a device, by a method wherein, in a simultaneous driving type thermal head, a driving circuits for heat resistances are divided into a plural number of groups, and so divided driving parts are alternately at both sides of the heating resistances. CONSTITUTION:Driving circuits 3-1, 3-2,... for heating resistances and shift registors 2-1, 2-2, ... which serve as a recording signal feed circuit, are divided into a plural number of groups, a unit of which consists of 5 consecutive bits, and the groups are located on a substrate in a manner to be alternately parted into two sides of the arrangement direction of the heating resistances 4. After a recording signal (a) is inputted to a distribution circuit 6 through a terminal 1, a counter 8 counts a clock signal synchronizing with the recording signal (a), and a reversing signal (b) is inputted to the distribution circuit 6 each time 5 clock signals are counted. Thus, the recording signals are alternately read into each of the shift registor groups 2-1, 2-2,... and the heat resistances 4 are driven by means of control lines 9a and 9b. |
