PURPOSE:To prepare granulated gum guaiac which can be taken extremely easily, and has similar swelling characteristics to the powdery gum guaiac, by kneading powdery gum guaiac with a binder obtained by adding methyl cellulose to a mixture of alcohol and water. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of alcohol and water wherein the weight ratio of alcohol of water is 2/3-3/2, is mixed with 1-5wt%, pref. about 3wt% of methyl cellulose to obtain a binder. Powdery gum guaiac is mixed with the binder at a weight ratio of 4/3-3/4, kneaded, granulated, dried, and dressed to obtain the objective gum. |
