A method for manufg. a seamless can with a thick bottom wall and relatively thin side wall is proceeded by forming a metal sheet with a resin-layer into a cup-shaped case(2') by a drawing process and applying an ironing process between an ironing die(10) and an ironing punch(9) which has its surface roughness of 1μ-3μ. It is characterized by applying the ironing process with a high ironing rate(0.7-0.8) defined by (Tb-Tw)/Tb = Ri, where Tb is the thickness of the can bottom wall, Tw is the thickness of the can side wall and Ri is the ironing rate, without creating any crack or burst in the can side wall during the ironing process or the drawing process.
