PURPOSE:To produce the titled ceramic having low void content, excellent breaking strength and chemical stability and high superconductive transition temperature and critical current density, by baking a Ba-Y-Cu-O material several times under specific condition. CONSTITUTION:A Ba-Y-Cu-O material produced by mixing a Ba oxide (e.g. BaCO3), a Y oxide (e.g. Y2O3) and a Cu oxide (e.g. CuO) is calcined twice or more at 850-1,050 deg.C in an atmosphere having an oxygen partial pressure of >=0.2atm. An oxide superconducting ceramic having high sintered density and high ratio of superconducting phase can be produced by this process without generating CO2 gas. |
