PURPOSE:To prevent the mixing of colors in a serial printer by positioning plural heads wherefrom different color inks are supplled at intervals of one printing line space or more so that printing with the next head can be carried out after the printing with the preceding head had dried. CONSTITUTION:In an ink jet type color serial printer which prints by jetting different color inks at the same time from plural heads 34, 35 to paper 32 conveyed by being wound to a drum 31, said heads 34, 35 are positioned at intervals of one printing line space or more preferably at four to five printing line space intervals. By so doing, it is made possible to print in a different color ink with the next head 34 after the printing with the preceding head 35 had dried. |
