PURPOSE:To reduce costs by correcting the time intervals of the respective strobe signals generated by the n-th detecting element owing to time lag from the strobe signals generated by the n-th and (n+1)th detecting elements. CONSTITUTION:On a sliding contact surface of a guide 2 on which a card 1 runs, twelve read elements 6 are juxtaposed orthogonally to the running direction of the card 1 and 8 detecting elements n1-n8 are juxtaposed along the side opposite from the running direction from the read elements 6. When the traveling speed of the card 1 changes, the time intervals of the respective strobe signals generated by the detecting element n7 are corrected by the time lag from the first strobe signal generated by the detection of the trailing end of the card by the detecting element n7 and the strobe signal generated by the detection of the trailing end of the card by the detecting element n8. Hence, the number of the elements can be twenty including the read element 6. |
