PURPOSE:To chamfer minutely all corner and edge parts of the head uniformly in a high speed, by soaking the magnetic head into the solution where grinding particles are suspended and by giving oscillation to the head. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic head core 6 is fixed to jig 5 with the minute chamfering work part at the tip. Jig 5 is connected to the oscillation source such as an ultrasonic work machine. Meanwhile, solution 8 where grinding particles are suspended is filled up in tank 7, and the whole of tank 7 is connected to this oscillation source also for the purpose of dispersing grinding particles. Jig 5 to which many head cores 6 are fitted is soaked in the suspended solution so that the chamfering part is under water surface A of this solution, and ultrasonic oscillation is given to perform the chamfering work for minute faces. As a result, all corner and edge parts of the magnetic head are subjected to the chamfering work simultaneously and uniformly in a high speed and in bulk. |
