Plastic cap for glass ampoule - with integral lugs to retain top of ampoule after fracture

A cylindrical tubular plastic cap for enclosing the top of a glass ampoule incorporates at least three internal radial pins to engage the neck of the ampoule so as to retain the top of the ampoule within the cap after the neck has been broken. Pref. the moulded cap has an oblique top for conveniently applying pressure to the top of the ampoule. The cap contains the cap safely. Pref. the cap is long enough to be refitted over the body of the ampoule while still contg. the detached top of the ampoule. The integral pins must be pliant enough to fit over the top of the ampoule while the latter is intact: typically the cap is of polyethylene.
