PURPOSE:To form a recording and reproducing gap with a high precision, by forming two grooves locally only in the part from the part near the top of the sphere of the medium floating head, which forms the pseudo sphere, to the rear end. CONSTITUTION:The face of head block 1 opposite to the magnetic tape is the sphere or pseudo sphere of 15-25mm. radius of the curvature so that floating pressure is generated between the magnetic tape and the opposite face due to the principle of the pneumatic bearing by pressing this opposite face into the magnetic tape face by several tens mu to perform scanning. The floating face is divided into center land part 3 and side land part 6 by two partial grooves 4a and has a continuous form in the front. Partial grooves 4a opened at the rear end of the floating face are formed easily by lifting the rear end of head block 1 to incline it and by moving the groove cut wheel horizontally. |
