New reforming catalysts comprise a mixt. of 2 types of particles (A and B). Particles A comprise a minor amt. of Pt and Re on a refractory support and particles B comprise a minor amt. of Ir on a refractory support. The catalysts offer a high degree of flexibility in that the (Pt+Re):Ir ratio can be adjusted to suit the feed compsn. by varying the proportions of A and B and/or their compsn. They have better stability than conventional catalysts (including mixts. of Pt/support and Ir/support particles), esp. under high-severity reforming conditions.
|
