The mobile apparatus for transporting and lifting loads is used in particular in stores where space is very restricted. A jib (25) can be horizontally extended on a chassis (1) carried by wheels (2, 3, 4, 5). This jib is fastened in a vertical frame (8) which is in turn mounted in vertical guide rails (6, 7) in a vertically adjustable manner. The jib (25) can not only be extended relative to the frame (8) but can also be shifted laterally inside the frame. The top side of the chassis (1) forms a supporting table on which the load can be put down during transport. The telescopically extendable jib (25) consists of U-sections (26-29) of essentially the same length which can be displaced one inside the other. At their cheeks directed downwards, these U-sections have horizontally lying tracks, facing one another, for running rollers (33). <IMAGE>
