PURPOSE:To lower production cost of storage tank by providing a number of division plates between the shell plates of a tank, thus constituting pressure control chambers and by communicating the pressure control chambers to a pressure medium source through a pressure control valve. CONSTITUTION:Pressure control chambers 2 are produced by installing division plates 1 between the shell plates 5 and 8 of a multicore storage tank. The pressure control chambers 2 are communicated to a pressure medium header 19 through a pressure control valve 4. This construction allows the pressure control valve 4 to control the pressure in the pressure control chambers 2 responding to the differential pressure produced therein so that the differential pressure may be minimized. As a result the construction makes it possible to reduce the thickness of shell plates and to fabricate division plates 1 with smaller rigidity and to minimize weld penetration, thereby reducing production cost of storage tank sharply. |
