The head (0) protection (1) is intended for someone wearing skiing goggles (10) or the like. It comprises a protective pad (2) which is pref. securable to the outside of the goggle assembly, particularly to a strap (11) holding the goggles in position. The pad may itself be in the form of a strap and may extend around the head (0) leaving the area of eyes and forehead clear. It may have a shield-shaped portion. It may be releasably secured to the goggle strap e.g. by a Velcron-type (RTM) self-attaching burr fixture. It may comprise a harder outer layer, e.g. in dense foam material, and a softer foam material inner layer.
