PURPOSE:To obtain a recording member with superior photosensitivity, superior shelf stability and high image density by using a Co(III) complex and silver halide as a photoreducing agent as principal components. CONSTITUTION:A soln. is prepared by mixing a Co(III) ammine complex or a Co(III) amine complex and silver halide (AgCl, AgBr or AgI) as principal components with a silver halide sensitizing dye such as merocyanine dye, a chelating agent such as a dioxime compound, an antipyriylium compound or nitrosonaphthol for the Co complex and a binder such as natural or synthetic polymer. The soln. is applied to a support and dried to form a photosensitive heat-sensitive layer. Thus, an image forming material is manufactured. This material is irradiated with a light image and heated to allow Co(II) to color. The addition of the silver halide results in enhanced photosensitivity and shelf stability. |
