PURPOSE:To increase the rate of evaporation of a solvent and enable sheets to be dried efficiently with a small size by blowing the air heated with the heating roller of a fixing device at a right angle to the sheet surface. CONSTITUTION:A suction chamber 10 is mounted above a paper passage guide 9. Flow passages 11, 12 for heated air are formed between this suction chamber 10, and the ceiling 6b and both side walls 6c, 6c of a housing 6. With this constitution, the outside air is blown through an air intake port 6a by a suction fan 14 into a housing 6 which is in the negative pressure state. This air is heated by a heating roller 1, then flows into the passage 11 and further through the passage 12 it is blown to the sheet from the direction orthogonal to the advance direction of transfer paper P. Thereby, the transfer paper is reheated, the rate of evaporation of solvent is increased and the evaporation is accomplished in a short section. Thereby, effective drying is accomplished with the small-sized device. |
