The arrangement is intended for using solar radiation to produce steam from seawater, particularly in tropical regions. The steam drives a steam engine with a generator, and the salt residue is a by-product. Condensate from the engine may be converted into potable water, part of which may be used to control the climate in adjacent greenhouses. Excess electrical energy may be used for electrolysis of sea water and thus stored in the form of hydrogen and oxygen. The solar unit comprises parabolic mirrors (RF1,2) concentrating radiation on a focal line (BL) at the metal core of a boiler (DHK). The entire unit is movable about horizontal (HD) and vertical (VD) axes by drive mechanisms (A) to follow the sun. The boiler is shaped such that the water level (WS) always remains above the focal line (BL). The boiler has an outlet (O) and access covers. A salt collecting vessel (SW) is arranged below it.
