A rocker switch cover has a mechanical indicator to show whether the switch is on or off. The switch actuating cover (1) has a lens (33) over a barred type window under which a shutter moves so that a change of colour or design indicates switch position. Window areas (20) between the cross bars (22,23) enable the moving shutter (8) below to be viewed. The shutter (8) moves (arrow 9) back and forth and is operated by a fixed abutment on the fixed central column structure (3) of the switch body through which the cover central switch lever operate bar (2) extends. As the switch cover (11) is rocked about its central axis the abutment slides up and down a right angled tongue on the shutter so moving the latter from one position to another and changing the design or colour viewed between the bars (22,23) in the indicator window (20).
