In cross-country ski bindings for shoes with welt extension (2), there is the problem of sufficiently firm pressing of the welt extension against a resting surface on the ski, in particular in the case of different thicknesses of the extension. A holding device (10), constructed as a triple-rod transmission, with two lever members (11, 12) and a coupling rod (16) is provided, the first lever member (11) engaging with a pressure piece (DR) on the welt extension and the second lever member (12) being provided with an actuation lever arm (12b). In the closed position, the transmission is self-locking in that the plane (Z), extending through the joint axes (XX, YY) of the coupling rod (16) is arranged between the welt extension (2) and a joint axis (UU), fixed to the ski, of the second lever member (12). By the toggle joint effect, a large transmission of force results in the region of the dead centre point with a correspondingly strong pressing of the pressure piece. A springy resilience is expediently provided within the transmission of force of the triple-rod transmission in order to guarantee pressing without play in the closed position after passing through the dead centre point. <IMAGE> |
