The cardboard tray, made from a single blank, has tabs (T) formed around the outer corners of one pair of opposed side-panels (Ps). The tabs are folded over edges of neighbouring end-panels (Pe) and over edges of flaps (F) formed on those panels, as so to hold the tray erect. The tabs are subdivided by at least two mutually perpendicular score lines to give three portions (a,b,c). Portions (a) formed on the same side-panel (Ps) may be combined to give a continuous portion extending along the entire upper edge of the panel. Intermediate panels may be provided between the end, side and bottom (Pb) panels for the production of a flanged tray. The tab may include a notched lip which engages connecting flaps to hold the tray erect.
|
