Band saw for granite stone cutting machine - has frame with endless blade saw performing reciprocating motion with speed and position control

The band saw is for a machine for cutting stone material. It consists of a frame with an endless saw blade (36). It executes an axial motion along the drive and guide wheel in the cutting stroke. The regulated reciprocating motion of the saw is continuous. The amplitude of vibration of the axial motion is measured and the measured value used as an operating parameter, which also controls the forward speed of the stone being cut. There is a monitoring unit which measures the amplitude, the instantaneous position and the frequency of the saw.
