PROM with circuit module - permits programming cycle to be generated only when programming potential is detected on ROM

A p.r.o.m. is built into a module permitting read and write cycles. The memory is accessed by an input stage that receives a chip select address. A generated signal allows the read clock stage to be activated and a separate signal gates a memory access circuit. A reset signal is generated at the end of the read cycle. If a write cycle is called a programming voltage generator is activated to allow new data to be stored.
