High resolution thermoplastic emulsion has a plastic layer on a light sensitive layer and applied to a transparent substrate using a conducting layer. The conducting layer is heated electrically to warm the plastic sufficiently to be deformed by an electric field, with the spatial modulation from the projected image. The layer provides high resolution holograms in real time. The tolerance in the resistance of the conducting layer is compensated for by a variable resistance in a bridge circuit. This balances the bridge for room temp., while the rest of the bridge layout provides a heating control with the required temp. determined by the change in resistance of the heating layer.
