A disc brake has carrying mechanisms 10a, 10b slidably mounting a caliper 5 the mechanisms respectively comprising pins 11, 16 secured to arm parts 3a, 3b of a fixed support 2, arm part 3a being extended to project over the outer periphery of the disc 1. Slide pin 16 has an extended part 16b which also projects over the disc. The friction pad 23 is slidably carried by guiding part 4 of the arm part 3a and by the extended part 16b, pad 20 is guided by arm parts 3a, 3b by means of grooves. Clearance t exists between pad 23 and part 16b, so brake torque for normal rotation of the disc is taken by arm part 3a for pad 23, but by arm part 3b for pad 20. It is also stated that the brake torque may be arranged to be distributed between the two arm parts irrespective of direction of disc rotation. <IMAGE> |
