The towed airborne target is intended for use in firing practice. It comprises a target body (4) which is connected to an aircraft via a towing cable (1) and coupling assembly (2). The body (4) comprises a ring (5) at the front end through which the air enters and a smaller-diameter ring (7) at the rear end which is connected to the front ring via a number of broad parallel straps (6). The front ring (5) pref. has a conical inner circumference converging in the direction of relative air flow. The rings may be in a flexible material and the straps may be braided plastic material.
