PURPOSE:To form the printing head excellent in lifetime and printing speed by attaching a specific wire guide amplitude restricting member in the printing head of wire dot matrix type. CONSTITUTION:In the printing head wherein a wire 1 connected with an armature 5 driven by a magnet 6 is guided by wire guides 3a-3e and led to a printing posiition through the intermediary of a bearing plate 8, the amplitude restricting member 9 contacting with the wire only when the amplitude of the wire 1 in the lateral direction exceeds a prescribed size is arranged between the rear end of the wire 1 and the wire guide nearest thereto (e.g. 3a). Accordingly, under the normal condition, the length of the wire 1 between the armature 5 and the wire guide 3a can be set to be sufficiently long, and, in addition, when the amplitude of the wire is turned to be large by resonant vibration due to repeated employment of the wire, the wire touches the member 9 and the natural frequency thereof becomes large, whereby the resonance of the wire is prevented. Thus, high-speed printing is enabled with a long lifetime. |
