<p>X-4959 -1- Novel 2-azaergolines, 2-aza-8(or 9)-ergolenes, which are neuroleptic agents, are described herein. These compounds are prepared by reacting a 7-amino-6-ketobenzo¢f!quinoline with a diazotization agent, e.g. sodium nitrite and a strong mineral acid, to yield the 6-keto-7-diazonium salt intermediate, followed by reduction to yield the final product.</p> |
