<p>METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR HEAT-SEALING LIDS ON GLASS CONTAINERS. of the disclosure A method is described for heat sealing composite lids made of a laminate of a light alloy coated with a layer of thermoweldable plastic material on glass containers. The method comprises the steps of pressure applying onto a said lid in position on a mouth of a glass container a flexible impervious membrane which is stretchingly supported by its outer periphery on a movably and hingedly supporting frame, and of submitting the side of said membrane opposite to said lid to a controlled heat flow.</p> |
