The stand comprises a clamp member attachable to the upper edge of the bag, and a pair of legs mounted on the clamp member for pivoting between retracted positions, wherein the legs are disposed adjacent the longitudinal axis of the bag, and extended positions wherein the bag and the two legs form a self-standing tripod. The two legs are constrained to pivot coordinately away from the bag and away from each other.</p>
