Vegetable fibres are pressed into boards in a machine which has a feeder for random adhesive-treated fibres, a preforming station where they are orientated parallel, and a device to supply the preforms into a space where they are pressed and cured. Several such spaces are fitted and are supplied in succession by movement of the supply device to each space in turn, feeding a number of preforms to each, so that a laminate of preforms is produced into a finished board. Uniform density sheets are economically produced at high output rate.
