1,002,819. Filtering liquors. BENTELER INTERTEX ORGANISATION A.G. Aug. 13, 1962 [Aug. 12,1961], No. 31030/62. Heading D1L. [Also in Division B1] In apparatus for filtering liquor used in the wet treatment of goods particularly fibrous goods, the base 3 of the container 1 for the liquor 2 is inclined towards a filter covered inlet of a circulating pump 5, an overflow 8 being provided for the removal of any floating foreign matter. After passing through the pump 5 the liquor is returned to container 1 via pipes 12 and 13. As shown, the disc shaped filter 11 is mounted for rotation on a shaft 15 and has internal turbine-like ribs such that it rotates under the influence of the liquor flow. The filter surface is cleared at the top of its rotary path by liquor coming from pump 5 via a valve 18 and a nozzle 17. The cleaning liquor passes into a trough 9 which also collects the overflow 8. The base 3 of the container may be raised either at one side or along its centre line and be provided with ribs 6 in oblique or V-shaped fashion respectively, these ribs together with the sides of the container forming collectors and guides for the foreign matter which sinks. In an alternative embodiment the filter surface is conical and its axis of rotation is arranged at an angle to the axis of the inlet 4. In a further form the filter surface is arranged in the circumferential surface of a drum and the liquor is caused to flow radially outwardly of the lower part of the drum while the filter cleaning liquor flows radially inwardly at the top. The rotary filter may be power driven. |
