PURPOSE:To calculate a gaseous pressure to be exerted upon molten metal surface and obtain a uniform quick-cooled metal strip by detecting the change in the weight of the molten metal in a tightly closed vessel which ejects the molten metal. CONSTITUTION:A gas is pressure-fed into the molten metal in a vessel 2 through a gas pressure-feed pipe 4, to apply the gaseous back pressure to the molten metal and the molten metal is ejected onto the outside circumferential surface of a roll 11 through a discharge nozzle 3, whereby a strip 10 is produced. The molten metal weight in the vessel 2 changing momentarily with the ejection of the molten metal is detected by a load cell 6. Next, the output signal thereof is transmitted through a line 7 to an operator 8 and the output signal of the result operated according to the equation I is transmitted to a gaseous pressure regulator 5 through line 9. Then, the regulator 5 controls the gaseous pressure according to the output signal. |
