PURPOSE:To improve the yield during the encapsulation and to enable rigid brazing, by applying the glass brazing only on the inner face side at the open end of bulb thereafter thermally fusing it to encapsulate the stem and the bulb. CONSTITUTION:The open end Ba of a bulb B is immersed in a glass suspention Gs and after picking-up the glass brazing adhered at the outside face is wiped out, then the glass brazing Gi is applied only on the inside face and the end face at the open end Ba of the bulb. Thereafter the stem S is inserted into said bulb B and the flare Sa is positioned at the open end of the bulb to fuse the glass brazing Gi while heating with the burner flare to encapsulate them. Since the stem is encapsulated without applying the glass brazing on the outside face of the bulb, the glass is never distorted to prevent the crack and the yield during the encapsulation work is improved. |
