PURPOSE:To improve the cooling effect of the diamond cutting wheel and facilitate the removal of chips produced by grinding by a method wherein the plural number f teeth are formed on the periphery of the cutter and a channel for flowing air is provided by cutting on the base of the tooth in the desired shape. CONSTITUTION:The plural number of teeth 3 are formed on the periphery of a blade 2 on which diamond powder 1 is attached by means of electrodeposition, and a chamber 4 is provided at the end of the tooth 3, while a crescent-shape cutout is prepared on the base of the tooth 3. When FRP material etc. are cut with a diamond cutting wheel thus shaped, the acdion of the teeth 3 and cutout 5 followed by the revolution of the blade 2 causes air flows a-c. The cooling effect in the cutting portion generated by the air flows a-c makes a cooling agent unnecessary. In addition, chips resulted from cutting is dispersed by the air flow, which prevents clogging and burning and prolongs the life of the wheel 2. This also improves the finish of the ground surface and grinding capability. |
