PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform transmission using waveguides which do not disturb the circular polarized wave, by installing metallic screws facing their openings to each other in the vicinity of a location which is normal to the pipe axis of circular and rectangular waveguides and from which an electric field of H21<o> mode generated in the circular waveguide becomes stronger. CONSTITUTION:Metallic screws MB1 and MB2 are installed in the area which is symmetrical to the joints of rectangular waveguides RWG1 and RWG2 to circular waveguide about the pipe exis of circular waveguide, which is parallel to the basic mode electric field of rectangular waveguide, and which is shorter than the length of joint. When a higher order H mode is generated in pipe CWG when, for instance, it is transmitting only 6GHz, the union between circular waveguide CWG and rectangular waveguide RWG becomes stronger. In this case, if screw MB1 is inserted into pipe CWG, disturbance of circular polarized wave becomes less, because the electric field is concentrated into the metallic screw and the electric field of H mode is bent and approaches to the H mode. By this arrangement, transmission can be performed using a waveguide which does not cause any circular polarized wave under a relatively simple constitution. |
