<p>The endoscope comprises a flexible probe (1) containing a bundle of optical fibres terminating at one end in an objective lens (3). At its other end the fibre bundle ends in a long cylindrical box (4) with an adjustable eyepiece (5) on the farthest end. Some of the optical fibres are brought out of the cylinder to an external light source providing light to illuminate the viewed object. A motor is provided to rotate the cylinder containing the eyepiece w.r.t. the fibre bundle and objective. The motor may be operated in either direction and is controlled by a three position rocker switch. The pivoting mechanism has end of movement switches making the motor inoperative in one direction when the eyepiece has moved fully in one direction. The motor has a reducing gear in its drive, and also acts as a brake.</p> |
