<p>The EHT circuitry supplies the X-ray tube with a damped peak charging and striking characteristic and achieves a fast recycle time. The EHT transformer (2) secondary with rectifier (3) supplies the X-ray tube (1). The primary circuit (10) of the EHT transformer (2) has a rectifier (9) feeding a damping circuit (13,14,16) comprising an inductance (13), low value resistance (14) and a capacitor (16) which is switched into circuit in order to damped the charge peak. The capacitor (16) is switched by its charging circuit (17,18,19) in parallel with the inductance (13) and resistor (14) in a charged state. A secondary winding (17) of the EHT transformer (2) is used to charge the capacitor (16) to a value determined by the thyristor (19) in the charge circuit. The charge value can be changed according to the operate conditions required by a switch (20) in the charge circuit. The switch is closed for h.v. charge and open for medium value.</p> |
