The appts. consists of a distributor (87); a row (s) of sample containers (74-86); a row (R) of reagent containers (1-29); a row (T) of reaction tubes (30-73); and at least one reading- or observation cell (93). The containers can be moved w.r.t. each other according to a predetermined program, so the distributor (87) can be automatically located over a sample container to deliver a sample to a reaction tube together with a reagent. Rows(R,S,T) are pref. located on the same or several circles; and numerical control program is pref. used to drive stepper motors to move the distributor and possibly some tubes or cells. Appts. is used e.g. for analysis of a large number of samples in immuno-enzymology.
