The appts. consists of a hopper contg. new powder and concentrically surrounding a funnel fed via a sepg. cyclone with used powder reclaimed from above the welded zone. A hose contg. a suction pump is employed to feed the used powder into the top of cyclone; and funnel has a swivel shutter controlling the amt. of used powder fed into a mixing chamber. Hopper contains a ring skirt with a circular row of outlet holes, via which new powder enters chamber; and the mixt. of new and used powders flows from chamber via a valve and hose onto the seam to be welded. The appts. is only the same size as a welding head.
