The device is inserted in the signal path between a microphone and amplifier, and consists of a circular button or linear cursor type linear potentiometer with a resistor connected between the two parts of the potentiometer together with the microphone input and the amplifier output. The third connection to the potentiometer is taken to ground. The potentiometer allows all audio frequencies, received and transmitted by the microphone, to be amplified at the amplifier's maximum volume and with a maximum of treble without attaining the Larsen frequency. The potentiometer allows adjustment in accordance with the microphones, surroundings, amplifiers and volumes used. Voice signals are presented to the microphone and the potentiometer is adjusted until the Larsen effect appears, whereupon the potentiometer is returned to a position which is below the threshold.
|
