PURPOSE:To measure a stress applied to a body to be measured quickly and directly through a simple device by a method wherein a magnetic flux is generated in a detection piece composed of a magnetic elastic material which a stress is applied to and this magnetic flux is detected by means of a detecting coil. CONSTITUTION:A detection piece 11 which is to be mounted on a body to be measured and a stress to be given to the body to be measured is applied to and which is composed of a magnetic elastic material, is installed. Then, an exciting coil 12 which generates a magnetic flux on this detection piece 11 is wound around the detection piece 11. Whereas, a detecting coil 13 which detects and magnetic flux generated on the detection piece 11 through the exciting coil 12 is wound on the detection piece 11. When the detection piece 11 is mounted on the body to be measured for the use, the stress to be given to the body to be measured is applied to the detection piece 11 as it is, thus, the stress can be detected as a variation of the magnetic flux by means of the detecting coil 13. |
